  • Group Portrait ~ Oshawa Mural Walk

    The Artform of the Week is Group Portrait by Douglas Coupland ~ Sculptor
    April 24 to May 1
    The Robert McLaughlin Gallery72 Queen Street, Oshawa, ON

    Coupland took Peter Croydon’s 1957 group portrait of The Painters Eleven, and used it as a framework to place abstract forms that represent each member. These forms and their colours are derived from a key piece of each of the eleven members’ works in the Gallery’s collection. 

    Be sure to allow time to visit the gallery to see current exhibitions: Painters Eleven: Abstract Bonds continuing at the RMG until August 24 and Oshawa Art Association's 57th Juried Art Exhibition ~ May 1 to 18

    We are sure that as you wander around downtown Oshawa's Heritage District, you will find some tasty spots for a coffee or lunch, tell them you found them while on the walk.

    Calling all supposed know-it-alls, self-proclaimed professors of random knowledge, and those who just want to have a good time and a good laugh!  Test your brain’s ability to retain random knowledge and fun facts in an “anything goes” trivia night where all skills are welcome! Join as an individual or with a team of up to four people as we test your knowledge on movies, music, TV, cartoons, superheroes, pop culture, history, science, sports and more! Concessions and cash bar available.

    NOTE: Each team will need to bring a smart phone, tablet or laptop to play.

  • Wind Reach Farm- Swing into Spring

    Swing into Spring

    Join them on Saturday, April 26th from 10am to 2pm for a fun-filled day at the Farm featuring our annual sheep shearing, demonstrations from our wool volunteers, and an opportunity to meet the newest cast of baby animals. The day will feature wagon rides, a scavenger hunt, food trucks, and an opportunity to shop for products made by our very own wool volunteers, as well as handmade crafts from local artisans available for purchase in the Cardinal’s Nest Gift Shop, and much more! Can’t make it? Buy a ticket for a family of lesser means and give the gift of lasting memories!

     

    While we are a farm, we request that you kindly keep your own four-legged friends at home. Dogs can make our farm animals anxious. Service animals are permitted on the property, but access to certain areas may be limited to ensure the safety of our animals.

    Tickets for this event are $30/car. You only need one ticket for everyone in your car, whether you are one person or more. Please print your e-ticket or have it ready to show on your phone as you will be asked to present it to confirm your purchase upon arrival. We also offer an option to purchase a ticket for a family of lesser means. Whether you are coming and can spare the cost of an extra ticket, or you can’t make it, but could help another family get here, please consider purchasing a ticket for a family of lesser means and give the gift of lasting memories!
