Whitby Girls Softball is now open for registration for the 2026 season! WGSA is a great program for girls ages 4–24 to have fun, stay physically active, and develop their softball skills. In this collection of bold and expressive drawings, Monica Dear captures the spirit of her subjects through energetic, seemingly chaotic lines and scribbles. Working primarily with gel pen and coloured pencil, she has developed a distinctive visual language that balances structure and colour with a deliberate touch of disorder. The result is work that feels alive; gestural and intuitive, offering just enough information to invite the viewer in.

Beth Adams got hooked on genealogy when her Aunt Charlotte took her and her mother to visit the Betts House on Westney Road in Pickering. The house was fantastic - but the family bible her cousin Myra showed her was the clincher! Inside that bible was a typewritten transcript of the family pages from an even older bible.
